Inlingua Lorca are looking for enthusiastic and well-prepared full and part-time teachers to join their language school in September 2017 in Lorca and Murcia. Applicants should have a university degree and appropriate 120 hour TEFL qualification. Previous teaching experience and preparation of Cambridge exams would be an advantage, as would some knowledge of Spanish.
Positions in Lorca involve teaching general English to children and young learners (age range from 3 to 18), general and business English to adults in groups and one-to-one classes, and preparation classes for Cambridge exams.
Full time teachers work 25 teaching hours, from Monday to Friday and part-time teachers 12 hours from Monday to Thursday, afternoons only.
The positions in Murcia involve teaching children and young learners using the inlingua materials in schools in the afternoons. The number of hours is yet to be established. Part time contracts are available for these positions as are free-lance contracts.
Full paid, in-house training provided one-week before the contract starts and on-going training sessions are held throughout the academic year.
The inlingua language centre opened in 1986 and is located in the town centre of Lorca in the south-east province of Murcia. We provide high quality language training for children, adults and companies in the local area. inlingua Lorca is a small, well-run establishment with British management where the teaching staff work closely together to achieve high standards of language teaching. The languages taught at inlingua Lorca are English, French, German and Spanish. Our teaching method focuses mainly on the development of our students’ speaking and understanding skills and this is achieved by using the extensive range of trainer resource materials developed by the Method and Material Department at inlingua international.
Lorca has a population of around 80,000 and is a typical bustling Spanish town with everywhere a short walking distance away. There are many bars and restaurants serving tapas, typical of the region, and plenty of cafés to sit outside and enjoy the 320 days of sunshine which Lorca has each year. The coastal town of Aguilas (30km from Lorca) is easily reached by train and bus, as is Murcia, the capital city of the region. The nearest airports to Lorca with bus and train connections are Alicante and Murcia (San Javier). It is also a great place to learn and practice Spanish with language exchange groups taking place frequently near the school during the week. At weekends there are also walking groups which get together to practice English and Spanish. There is also the possibility to learn Spanish at the school.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Native level English speaker
- Minimum 1 year EFL teaching experience
- University degree
- 120 hour TEFL/CELTA certificate
- European Union Passport
- A knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage though not a necessity.
Salary and Benefits

- 25 teaching hours Monday to Friday (full time) / 12 hours Monday to Thursday (part-time)
- Paid holidays: 2 weeks at Christmas and 10 days at Easter plus any local or national holidays which fall within the contractual period.
