The best beaches in Benidorm
Benidorm is home to a stunning coastline with plenty to do on land and sea – whether you prefer to relax on the sand or try a new kind of sport. Here are the beaches you should try and visit.
1. Levante Beach
This is the main beach in Benidorm, home to the bustling promenade, with 5,000 sunbeds and fine clean sand. You can also try out water skiing, scuba diving and paragliding here via one of the vendors along the shore, and there are also diving boards, slides and swinging bridges for the kids (and adults) to have a go on.
2. Poniente Beach
This quieter sandy spot is perfect for when you want to chill out for the day and soak up the sun. There is a kids’ playground to keep the little ones busy and restaurants nearby to head to when you fancy lunch or dinner.
3. Cala Tio Ximo
More of a cove than a beach, this spot is ideal if you want to really get away from the hordes of tourists on the sand. It’s a little tricky to reach, with a rocky path to navigate down to the beach but once you’re there it’s the perfect place to snorkel and even cliff dive if you feel brave.
4. Mal Pas Beach
Another quieter but still fun beach, this is the ideal sandy spot if you want to catch up on your tan and leave the kids to enjoy the water.
5. Playa del Albir beach
This stretch of pebble beach sits between Sierra Helada mountain and Ifach rock. It features a promenade like Hollywood Boulevard with stars dedicated to celebrities and actors who have attended the local Albir film festival.
