Enjoy learning more Spanish, and remember to keep popping back each week to learn more – it’s free!
Spanish Words in The Bedroom
Alarm clock – el despertador
Bed – la cama
Bedroom – el cuarto
Blanket – la cobija / la frazada / la manta
Closet / Wardrobe – el armario / el ropero/ el clóset
Coathanger – el colgador / el gancho
Dressing Table – la cómoda
Lamp – la luz / la lámpara
Nightstand / Bedside Table – la mesita de noche
Pillow – la almohada
Quilt – el edredón / la colcha
Sheets – las sábanas
Now you will be able to head to your nearest bedding or furniture shop, armed with the knowledge that you can get exactly what you want. The word for Dressing table made me laugh though – fancy buying a commode when Great Aunt Ethel comes to stay? I don’t think her perching over a dressing table is what what you had in mind *cough*
Elle, along with Alan, is the owner of Spain Buddy and the busy web design business – Spain Web Design by Gandy-Draper.
Born a “Norverner”, she then spent most of her life “Dann Saff” before moving to Spain in 2006. Elle’s loves are Alan, the internet, dogs, good food, and dry white wine – although not necessarily in that order.

Blanket? I’d have used manta as the generic term. Any thoughts people? TIA

Thanks Steve – have added it in as an alternative.

Agree with Steve – “manta” is the only word I’ve ever heard used for blanket. And I’ve only ever heard “percha” for coathanger. A “gancho” is a hook.

El cuarto, chiquita, not la. Only other complaint is that there´s no romantic or sexy associations – sure you could add some of those no bother!

Ooh…. what a schoolgirl error! Thanks Mo love – I have now corrected it.
Yes – a post full of romance, intrigue and sexiness is planned for the future! ;)

Yes, sad but true, I´ve always been THAT girl in the classroom who corrected the teacher! Do I suck or what? Looking forward to your Sexy Spanish!

I think I might still be too young at 53 to hear your expert tanga-tied titillations. Specially with Alan … I really am too young for that!

Ha ha. I can’t go too x-rated – am sure you’ll be able to handle it. ;)
