School theatre competition Huercal Overa
More than a hundred children have taken part in the fourth edition of the Certamen de Teatro Escolar del Levante in the Levante School Theatre Competition) which was held in Huercal Overa, Almeria on Thursday June 4 2015.
The competition involved four schools in the region and each participating child received a diploma and a gift from the town of Huercal Overa.
The schools that took part in this activity were CEIP Virgen del Río de Huércal-Overa, CPR Las Estancias de Huércal-Overa, CEIP Almendricos and CEIP San José de Calasanz.
The little actors brought art and grace to the stage to delight the audience which included members of their families.
Music, traditional fairy tales including Little Red Riding Hood (with a modern twist), military histories and adventures of castaways were some of the entertainment offerings.
The councillor for Culture in Huercal Overa, Antonio Lazaro, and the Councillor for Economy, Maribel Sanchez, presented the little actors with their diplomas and a small gift.
Lazaro explained: “This event that we first launched four years ago has become a benchmark in the cultural and programming centres. We present our schools who, through interpretation have given us a form of artistic expression such as theater.”
Lazaro went on to congratulate the players for their “great performance and teachers for the great work they do with students preparing these events” and stressed a continued support.
