Review: Ryanair-Friendly cabin bag with anti-theft clips
Some travel gear shouts for attention. This lot doesn’t. It just quietly makes your journey smoother, more organised, and slightly less irritating.
We’ve picked up a Ryanair-friendly cabin bag and paired it with a set of anti-theft zip clips for an upcoming trip. Together, they solve problems you only notice when it’s too late.

The cabin bag
If you’ve flown with Ryanair recently, you’ll know their baggage rules are less “guidelines” and more “personality test”. The free under-seat allowance sits at roughly 40 x 20 x 25 cm. This bag fits. Properly.
It comes in various sizes but also in oodles of colours! 13 colours, in fact. Sadly no leopardprint for me but I can amend that with some extra accessories. Ahem.
Alan is likely to use this bag more frequently than me – so we went for a dark grey… to match his dark dark soul.
Organisation levels: this is very much “Elle territory”
Everything has a place, including the things you didn’t plan to bring but somehow did anyway. Anyone who has spent any time with me will know how organised I love to be. I know exactly where everything is kept and where EXACTLY to find things in my growing collection of handbags. This bag is perfect for me because it has so many damn pockets. Yay!!! I get to allocate “homes” for all my goodies.
You can separate documents, cables, toiletries, snacks and that one random item you’ll need exactly once.
And crucially, you can find them again without unpacking half your life at security.
The zip clips
Now for the tiny, faintly ridiculous-looking things that turn out to be quite clever. I’ll be honest – Alan bought a pack of these for himself. But then I saw them… wanted them… and claimed half of them. That’s pretty par for the course in this house. And yes it goes both ways.
So… these clips. They clip two zips together. That’s it. No apps, no codes, no drama. There’s not a lot more you can say. Nor should you need to.
Why I like them
- They slow potential thieves down, which is often enough
- Useful in airports, buses, and anywhere busy
- Weigh nothing and take seconds to use
- Particularly handy on a bag with multiple compartments
They won’t stop a determined thief, but they’ll likely discourage a casual one. Think of them as mild inconvenience, weaponised.
Why this combination works
The bag keeps everything organised. The clips stop everything being quite so easy to access for anyone who isn’t you.
It’s a neat little system:
- organised
- compact
- slightly more secure
- far less faffing about
Oh and ladies… I haven’t broken any nails while using them!!!
The Spain Buddy verdict
The bag does exactly what it should, which is rarer than it ought to be. It fits airline rules, holds more than expected, and doesn’t fight you while packing.
The clips are small, cheap, and surprisingly useful. Not essential. But very sensible.
Together, they remove a few minor annoyances from travel. Which, frankly, is always a bonus.
The usual disclaimer
We bought these ourselves and received no payment nor freebies from the manufacturers for writing this.
