RAF Red Arrows take to the Menorcan skies in September
Tuesday September 18 will mark the 4th return of the RAF Red Arrows, to the tranquil city of Mahón, Menorca, in one of the few flypasts being held outside of the United Kingdom to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the British Royal Air Force.

Locals, ex-pats and holidaymakers are set to flock to the capital’s harbour to enjoy the spectacle after the previous unforgettable display in 2014 that celebrated 10 years of the Isla del Rey Foundation.
The ‘Flechas Rojas’ originally made their debut in Balearic skies back in 2011 with a spectacular show dedicated to the 300 years since the construction of the British Royal Navy Hospital on Isla del Rey. The following year, the Red Arrows returned to perform another dazzling display.
On September 18 2018, the team made up of pilots, engineers and essential support staff, will be seen flying in their trademark nine aircraft formation. The show in Menorca will be part of their 54th season and, with seven months of intense training and preparation, should prove to be a dramatic spectacle.
The pleasure will certainly be mutual as the pilots will no doubt be marvelling at the picturesque Menorcan scenery from the cockpits of their distinctive Red Arrow Hawk jets. It’s a win-win for everyone!
