Lavender and Lemons in Almería contacted us recently and asked if we’d like to try their products. Of course I said “Yes,” and they dispatched a box of goodies to test out here at the office.
Of course when I say “we,” I mean “me,” as Alan generally turns his nose up at anything less than “caveman”. I don’t mind at all though – all the more for me!
So anyway – once I’d skipped back indoors after a chit-chat with Señor Correos, I eagerly tore open the packaging.
No More Bites – review
First impressions were that the packaging is stylish. I received tubes of super hydrating lotion in “Flower Power” and “Planet Power” fragrances (available for sale later this year), a tube of anti bug bite moisturiser, a bottle of anti bug bite cologne and a bottle of acqua d’alfresco insect repellent.
The titles themselves are fine; they speak for themselves. But it is when you smell these goodies that you discover how unique and special they are. They smell amazing! Insect repellents can smell a little “off” but these are great. Play the video to see what others have thought.
I got stuck in straight away, testing the cologne. It smelled like it would suit a fella more than me, but I did really like it. The following day I tested the acqua d’alfresco – which was gorgeous! You only need a teeny squirt on your pulse points as it’s a hearty aroma, which means it will last for ages.
The following couple of weeks saw me testing the tubes of lotion. I made a mistake the first time – I applied as much as I would have any other body lotion… but this stuff really stretches – so what I thought would only do my ankles and shins actually spread far enough to do my entire legs. It smelled great too!
The timing of the arrival of these goodies was great. Spring has finally arrived in our little town, and although we don’t get many mozzies up our mountain, we do get midges – maybe two or three milling about the living room of an evening at this time of year. The area behind my knees had been devoured the night before the products arrived – but I haven’t been bitten since then!
So – what’s not to like? The products smell like beauty products yet they also keep those biting bazzas at bay too.
These would make an ideal gift for family members who live in areas where flying biters are a problem… or for those that travel to places where biters are an issue.
About Lavender and Lemons
In Spain, Geoff and Jen in Almería are the sole distributors, although they are looking to expand the team (contact them direct for more information about that).
Jen has been using the products herself for more than two decades – so is definitely a great ambassador due to her proven love of the products! Geoff, too, uses the products and is regularly complimented on how great he smells. People are always surprised when they find out that his “designer cologne” is actually insect repellent!
The products are natural, so great for those of us with sensitive skin… but also great for kids!
These products are not only DEET-free, but also paraffin and paraben free too. They are made from natural oils… … … and once more, “They smell amazing!” As I type, I can smell the acqua alfresco after a teeny squirt to my neck and wrists. Lovely.
Where can I get some of these goodies?
