Noche en Blanco in Almeria city
The Mayor of Almería, Luis Rogelio Rodríguez-Comendador, encourages everyone to attend Noche en Blanco in Almeria city on June 5.

This is the fourth time the city has held the event which, this year, includes more than 70 free activities in 30 areas, plus the participation of more than 150 shops. Events run from 8pm until 2am.
The mayor explained: “Music, theater, children’s games, fashion, exhibitions, guided tours… all with commercial activity beyond the usual closing time, will turn the city centre into a real cultural, tourist, recreational and commercial showcase, filled with life.”
The mayor’s speech came during a press conference in which he was accompanied by the Head of Economic Development, Employment and New Technologies, Ana Martinez Labella.
This year, sees the highest number of street scenes (eight) which will be in various locations including Puerta de Purchena, Plaza del Educador, Plaza Vieja, Plaza Pablo Cazard and the Rambla amphitheatre.
The Mirador de la Rambla will host a concert by la Unidad de Música and the band of Guerra de la Brigada de la Legión. Meanwhile, the Plaza Virgen del Mar will host urban, artistic and interdisciplinary shows, with the participation of Escuela de Arte, the Conservatorio de Danza and la Escuela Taurina
Rodríguez-Comendador has also pointed out: “The opening and provision of Almeria on this day of all new cultural resources that have opened recently: The Doña Pakyta museum, Heritage Interpretation Centre and the house of Jose Angel Valente, the Guitar Museum, Arab baths, Civil War shelters, the Alcazaba, the Andalucian Centre of Photography, the Interpretation Centre and the Archaeological Museum.”
The White Night 2015 will kick off in the Plaza Vieja, with children’s music and theater, plus traditional music and dance of Almeria,.
The mayor thanked the participating businesses, noting that more are involved this year than ever. The shops are offering various discounts and promotions while also presenting activities inside their stores and out on the streets.
Please note that traffic access will be restricted to Obispo Orberá, Paseo de Almería and streets in the historic quarter. The streets will be closed from 3pm.
