A message from our pals at MadridBabel who organise Intercambios in Madrid twice a week, plus regular trips away.
In March we look forward to meeting you at our usual international encounters every Wednesday from 20:30 on and every Sunday from 19:00 on at Café Galdós (Los Madrazo 10 – metro Sevilla), which will keep its offer of two spirits for €10 for MadridBabel and its enhanced food menu.
Moreover, this month we celebrate our 13th anniversary with two very special events: a Great Party at Skynight on Friday 15th and a spectacular Trip to the South West of France from Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st. Herewith you will find all the details, see you soon!
GREAT 13th ANNIVERSARY PARTY (Friday, March 15th)
On Friday, March 15th, MadridBabel invites you to its great 13th ANNIVERSARY PARTY, which will take place from 21:00 at the spectacular Skynight Terrace on the 13th Floor of Hotel Puerta de América *****L (Avenida de América 41- metro Cartagena, with free parking during the whole evening if you arrive between 21:00 and 1:00).
There will be our usual friendly international atmosphere, surprises and prizes, this time on Madrid heights with incredible sights. We will also have the magnificent funk-soul-jazz Neanderfunk live band and our friend and Dj Richard Lewington who will deejay great top quality music.
The entrance will cost €10, which includes one drink.
Don’t forget to bring your friends because we would like to celebrate our 13th birthday with everybody in an unforgettable evening and in a very impressive venue J
THURSDAY 28 MARCH: MADRID – HONDARRIBIA – SAINT JEAN DE LUZ – BAYONNE
We will leave at 08:30 from the Atocha roundabout (beside the Ministry of Agriculture) towards Hondarribia, where we will have lunch and visit its beautiful city centre, which comprises the fishermen’s neighbourhood, one of its most emblematic places. We will also visit the city’s upper area, where the Parador of Carlos V is located.
In the afternoon, once we are in France, we shall visit the picturesque port of Saint Jean de Luz and continue later towards the lively city of Bayonne, where we shall have dinner and spend the night.
FRIDAY 29 MARCH: BAYONNE – LES LANDES – BAYONNE
We shall go directly into Les Landes woods, where we shall take and old train to travel back in time and visit a typical medieval farm, exactly the same as it was 200 years ago. Later, we will visit two beautiful old villages: Saint Justin and Labastide d´Armagnac, as well as the eco-museum of the area of Les Landes.

SATURDAY 30 MARCH: BAYONNE – PAU – WINERY – LABASTIDE CLAIRENCE – OSSAU VALLEY
We shall visit the historical city of Pau and, after enjoying a selection of good French wines in a winery, we shall visit one of the most beautiful villages in France: Labastide-Clairence.
In the afternoon we shall make a tour through the Ossau Valley and enjoy the scenery of this area of the Pyrenees, stopping in one of the picturesque villages.
Dinner in a local restaurant and accommodation in Bayonne.
SUNDAY 31 MARCH: BAYONNE – COAST OF BIARRITZ – GEESE FARM – ETXALAR – MADRID
We shall visit the spectacular coast of Biarritz, enjoying the wonderful views which lead towards Bidasoa estuary, where we shall visit a geese farm. We shall then stop to eat in the pretty locality of Etxalar, where we shall start our way back to Madrid.
