This week brings news of pet neutering launched in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Yaiza mayor Gladys Acuña and the Asociación para la Defensa de los Animales Huella a Huella have launched a campaign of sterilization in order to stem the spread of disease and prevent overpopulation of animals, one of the main causes of the abandonment of animals.
To benefit from this program, which sets discount prices for the sterilization of dogs and cats, The owner simple needs to be registered as a resident in the municipality of Yaiza and the pet properly identified with a microchip. However, microchipping is also included as part of the campaign. The prices are in the poster below.
Yaiza residents interested in more information about the campaign can contact the Asociación para la Defensa de los Animales Huella a Huella by phone on 928 830 225, on Facebook or by email to email@example.com.
Huella a Huella and Yaiza council have co-developed several initiatives to raise public awareness about the abandonment of animals and the responsibility that comes with having a pet. The council has announced improvements to the pound, refurbishing its facilities as a shelter for lost animals or abandoned pets – providing better conditions by providing basic care.
Last week Huella a Huella and Yaiza council organised a walk in Playa Blanca with their animals to promote their adoption.
