Knitted Knockers Galore From Sol Yoga Centre
The owner of the Sol Yoga Centre, Maya Bamford, based in La Cinta, Arboleas was absolutely bowled over by the result of the final Sol Yoga Centre’s Charity Holistic Day held on June 16 2017, before their Summer break.
The Sol Yoga Centre, holds a Charity Holistic Day once every month, with the exception of July and August. Money raised by these events are usually donated to various charities with a large proportion going towards buying food for the Arboleas Food Bank, however the Centre has also donated €700 to Leo Bermejo (Leo the Lion) Fund for the little lad who is suffering from tumours of the brain caused by a rare cancer condition, and over the years other local charities have also benefitted from funds raised during these fund raising charity days.
On this final fundraising day before the Summer break it was decided that the charity to be supported would be for “Asociación Knitted Knockers, Costa del Sol” a charity who knit and crochet breast prostheses for women that have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy, and will supply and post to all nationalities throughout Spain free of charge. The charities knitters are all volunteers, however the cost of materials has to be funded.
Maya Bamford wished to express a huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered for the Holistic Therapy Day, and also to all the persons that supported the event. Another big thank you also needs to go to IBEX Insurance, Albox, who were our sponsors of the event.
The combined efforts of the Volunteers, the supporters and the sponsor all helped to raise a whopping €850.
