Madrid
Madrid, the beautiful capital of Spain, has plenty of activities for all the family.
You can visitwhat is widely regarded as the best zoo in Spain, Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, which is located within an enormous green city park. You can easily spend a full day in the park and zoo, seeing wildlife from every continent. Afterwards, you can hop on a cable car back to the city, which is an adventure in itself!
Football fans can head to the famous Santiago de Bernabeu stadium, which is home to Real Madrid. You can book onto a tour, go on an interactive journey, see a panoramic view of the pitch and even take home a photo with your favourite footballer digitally added in!
Barcelona
Barcelona is a great all-rounder for a family holiday as it’s the perfect mixture of city and beach, and you can easily walk or cycle around the city to see all the sights.
There’s nine UNESCO World Heritage sites in Barcelona alone and Park Güell is one of them, created by famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. It is a fairytale creation of Hansel and Gretel houses, ornamental dragons, colourful gardens and iconic architecture that will both kids and adults will love. Plus, it’s free entry so it won’t break the bank.
That’s not all, either. Barcelona is also home to a chocolate museum, theme parks and a wax museum – what more could you want?
Mallorca
Mallorca’s beaches are famously family-friendly, with glorious weather, shallow waters to swim in, and fun activities like paddleboard and snorkelling. Playa de Muro, Cabrera Island and Bay of Alcúdia are all excellent spots to take your children.
It’s not just beaches though. If you fancy a short hike, you can explore Caves d’Artà which can be found in the limestone cliffs near Canyamel beach. They feature a labyrinth of formations and caverns as big as cathedrals. Kids will love this secret, eerie world and their imaginations are sure to go into overdrive – especially with the lights and the music that help create anelectrifying atmosphere.
