We first got to know Victoria Twead some months ago, when her book “Chickens, a Mule and Two Old Fools” was recommended to us. Within the week I had read the first book… then ordered the second, “Two Old Fools. Ole!” Then followed a little wait until December, when she released the third book in the trilogy, “Two Old Fools: Camel”. If you haven’t read the books yet… then you must – you’ll find links to purchase them at the bottom of this article.
So… onto Victoria!

Who are you?
Victoria Twead
When did you move to Spain, and where from?
We moved in 2004 from grey Britain.
Who came with you?
My long-suffering husband, Joe.
Where in Spain do you live now?
In a crazy, tiny village, up a mountain in Almeria.
How are you with speaking Spanish?
Hmmm… could do better. :(
If you could change one thing about Spain… what would that be?
I wish they sold bayonet-type light bulbs to fit our British light fittings. We have to ask our friends to bring them from England.
What is the best thing about living in Spain?
List is too loooooong…
What is your favourite Spanish dish?
Only one? Okay, barbecued garlic mushrooms.
What is the predominant nationality of your friends in Spain?
Spanish. We’re the only Brits in the village.

If you won the Euromilliones – would you still live where you currently are?
Yes, but I’d have another house in Australia so we could visit our new granddaughter.
If a movie was made about your life – who would play you?
Julie Walters, and Joe could be played by Jack Nicholson (he needs a grumpy actor).
If you had to describe yourself as a sandwich filling… what would you be?
Butter and honeycomb – a little too much fat, sweet, but with surprising crunchy bits. :)

Right – now is the chance to tell us all about your business/website/blog if you have one (or more of course). Go for your life!
Not much to say… I’m an old fool and author of ‘Chickens, Mules and Two Old Fools’ and its sequels. We live up a Spanish mountain and owned probably the most dangerous cockerel in Spain. We’re apt to make silly decisions, like working for a year in Bahrain just when the Arab Spring erupted.

Next month we welcome Maureen Dolan to the hotseat – check back on the 3rd March!

Elle, along with Alan, is the owner of Spain Buddy and the busy web design business – Spain Web Design by Gandy-Draper.
Born a “Norverner”, she then spent most of her life “Dann Saff” before moving to Spain in 2006. Elle’s loves are Alan, the internet, dogs, good food, and dry white wine – although not necessarily in that order.
