F.A.C.E. needs you!
If you have a few hours to spend each month assisting a dedicated group of people to raise money for worthwhile charities, F.A.C.E. needs you and would love to welcome you to the bubbly and successful team.
F.A.C.E. (Fundraising in Arboleas, Caring for Everyone) raises money for a number of charitable causes in the Arboleas area of Almería, including Little Owls, the A.E.C.C. (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer) and M.A.C.S. (Mojacar Area Cancer Support)
In 2003 the mother of the F.A.C.E. President Adele Wrigglesworth registered her to take part in the “MacMillan Biggest Ever Coffee Morning in the World” event. Adele had never done charity work before, but with the aid of friends and neighbours, she accepted her mother’s challenge and set about organising her first ever charity event.
The Coffee Morning was held in her garden in Los Garcias in Arboleas. Over the following couple of years the event grew from being a garden event to taking over the whole street. However it was felt that money raised in Spain, should remain in Spain, and so from these humble beginnings, and with much help from the Arboleas Ayuntamiento, the present day F.A.C.E. Charity was born!
Over the intervening years, F.A.C.E. has grown and evolved into a fully registered charity and has donated thousands of Euro’s to other needy causes in addition to those previously mentioned.
F.A.C.E. normally holds two major fund raising events during the year, one during the Summer and the other during the weeks coming up to Christmas. These two events are supplemented by donations from generous groups or persons and by a host of smaller events such as the occasional Quiz Night, Clothes and Book Sales and other fund raising events.
There has always been a strong committee led by F.A.C.E. President Adele Wrigglesworth. However over the years this committee has become smaller due to the retirement of various members because they have returned to the United Kingdom or have found that other commitments have had to replace their F.A.C.E. duties. Therefore it is now time for F.A.C.E. to recruit two or three new members.
If you feel that you have the time and the enthusiasm to join the F.A.C.E. team, F.A.C.E. would really like to hear from you.
In the first instance please contact Adele Wrigglesworth on telephone number 667 255 094 or contact the charity through either it’s Facebook page or via its web site at www.face-charity.com
