This week we head to Granada to chat to Piet and Sandra Quekel. Together, Piet and Sandra own and manage an estate agent business in Granada. They also live in one of the fabulous cave houses that Granada is so well known for.
When did you move to Spain, and where from?
We came 10 years ago independantly from each other to Spain, Piet comes from the south of the Netherlands, and Sandra from the east of the Netherlands.
Who came with you?
Piet came alone, Sandra with a family of 3.
Where in Spain do you live now?
We live in a cave house in Huescar, Granada province.
Do you work? As what?
We work as Real Estate agents with our own agency, besides that we have a bed and breakfast in another cave house.
How are you with speaking Spanish?
If you could change one thing about Spain… what would that be?
A longer summer
What is the best thing about living in Spain?
The weather and the way of live, much less stressy than the rest of europe.
What is your favourite Spanish dish?
Everything from the grill, and all fresh
What is the predominant nationality of your friends in Spain?
Spanish, English, Belgian, Dutch
If you won the Euromilliones – would you still live where you currently are?
Yes, but with something else elsewhere warm to escape the winter.
