When did you move to Spain, and where from?
We moved to Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz) in the year 2012 from Milán (Italy).
Who came with you?
Our daughter Lola Maria, that was then one year and half.
Where in Spain do you live now?
In Vejer de la Frontera, the southern “white village” in Spain, in the Cádiz province, Andalusia.
What things (apart from loved ones) do you miss from your country of birth?
There are not a lot of things that we miss from our “Bella Italia”, except for a good pizza and an Italian “espresso”.
Do you work? As what?
When we came here we start from zero a new business: selected delicatessen products from all Andalusia and sale them through a web-site all over the world and through a “Deli Shop” in Vejer that is much a house than a shop. For all of these reasons the Company name is YA EN TU CASA, already in your home.
How are you with speaking Spanish?
Good, because we studied before coming here and because we work with Andalusian producers.
If you could change one thing about Spain… what would that be?
Almost nothing, probably we’d like a little more punctuality by all business people (for which concern delivery)
What are the best things about living in Spain?
Many many.. the weather, the relaxing way of life, the smiling and warm people.
What are your favourite Spanish dishes?
Tortilla, Gambas and Jamon.
What is the predominant nationality of your friends in Spain?
Half spanish and half from abroad (english, german, australian, italian, etc.)
If you won the Euromilliones – would you still live where you currently are? Why? Why not?
Yes, but not in the same house, probably in a Chalet on the Playa Los Alemanes!
If a movie was made about your life – who would play you? Why?
Cate Blanchett for her power, humanity and sense of humor.
Hugh Grant for his Brit humour, quiet and smiling.
If you had to describe yourself as a cocktail… what would you be, and why?
A gin & tonic! Claudia is the Gin and Diego the Tonic!
Right – now is the chance to tell us all about your business/website/blog if you have one (or more of course).
Ya en tu casa sells Andalusian delicatessen products physically in their shop, in Vejer de la Frontera, calle Corredera 17, via internet all over the world (www.yaentucasa.com) and direct by international distribution.
Customers can buy and take away their selected products or they can be shipped to order.
Elle, along with Alan, is the owner of Spain Buddy and the busy web design business – Spain Web Design by Gandy-Draper.
Born a “Norverner”, she then spent most of her life “Dann Saff” before moving to Spain in 2006. Elle’s loves are Alan, the internet, dogs, good food, and dry white wine – although not necessarily in that order.
