Ecogiving.org launch imminent!
Ecogiving.org is a website that supports charities across the EU, providing them with desperately needed donations. Launching on June 17 2022, they are asking for your help and interest. It is no secret that Spain Buddy is always keen to support any organisations that help others, and of course that help the planet.
How does it work?
It works by people using the website to shop for items at no additional costs to themselves. Each time a purchase is made, a percentage of the profits is set aside ready for financial support of these hardworking organisations.
Garry Robey, a brand architect for two decades, has been helping brands establish themselves online and in retail stores across the EMEA but, for the last 5 years, his focus has been to help eco-friendly brands. A proud supporter of charities in and around Torrox and Nerja on the Costa del Sol where he has lived since 2017, he was disappointed by the lack of extra support these charities so urgently and desperately need. Garry spotted a missing link between charities getting their communities to donate regularly, with a mission to reduce plastic waste in the world. One morning he awoke at 2am with a lightbulb moment and wrote a business plan for ecogiving.org.
Ecogiving.org is an easy way for communities to shop for the best eco-products in the EU while simultaneously donating to their favourite charities, NGOs, schools and churches. These products will all be sustainably sourced and produced in the UK or EU.
The goal of ecogiving.org
The aim of the website is simple: to help as many charities across the EU as possible by providing them with regular donations that they so desperately need. Garry has a target of 1000 charities in Spain by the end of 2022, but if even 500 charities are involved, he will be very happy.
Users of the website will be able to purchase items in the following categories, while simultaneously raising money for their favourite causes.
- Food
- Household
- Cleaning
- Bath and body
- Personal care
- Pet
- Kitchen
- Garden
The aim is to raise 2.4 million euros in donations in 12 months – just in Spain. To do this Garry is calling all registered charities, schools and houses of worship to sign up on the ecogiving.org website to register their interest. There is no monetary or contractual commitment, all the NGOs have to do is talk about EcoGiving wherever they can through Social Media, events, leaflets and posters in their shops. Ecogiving will provide all the content both physical and digital – free of charge!
Ecogiving.org has been accepted for 1% for the Planet and the Eden reforestation project so we will also donate 1% of our annual revenue to https://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org/ and they will plant a tree for every order placed on the site in collaboration with the Eden reforestation project. Additionally, they have also applied for B Corp* certification. *
