Volunteers of the Butterfly Children Charity raised €9200 by wrapping Christmas presents in the FNAC store, Marbella.
During the Christmas period FNAC gave the Butterfly Children Charity (DEBRA Spain) a great opportunity to raise funds and awareness. From the 27th November until the 5th January, volunteers of the charity tirelessly wrapped Christmas presents purchased in FNAC in return for a donation for the cause.
“When you volunteer, you help others but above all you help yourself” said Ángela Merino, one of the volunteers who participated in the event. In total more than 100 volunteers took part, helping to raise €9,200 for the cause in turn allowing many more shoppers and tourists to know about Butterfly Children.
Initiatives like this demonstrate the charitable nature of individuals and organisations within Marbella. Together, they are helping to raise awareness of this unknown condition that affects approximately 1000 people throughout Spain.
