To Qualify
To obtain the qualification which allows you to travel with the Holiday Program you must complete the application on the Internet HERE (in Spanish) – update 30 April 2013. Sorry but the link seems to have been removed.
It is important to know that you need not reapply if you qualified to travel last season.
Once the authorisation process is processed, you will receive the documentation at your home, around September, which then allows you to obtain the corresponding tickets.
The documentation sent to you will indicate the destination you have been assigned and the date on which you should contact the travel agent to obtain your place.
Both the destination and the date are established following appraisal by IMSERSO of all applications, according to age, amount of pension and earlier trips made.
If you want to link your application to that of another person in the same province, please bear the following in mind:
- The ID card number of the person you want to be linked to must be properly completed.
- The destinations chosen and the order of priority should be exactly the same in both applications.
In the event that you travel with a child with a disability, provided they have a level of disability equal to or greater than 45%, you should be aware that he/she may only travel with his/her parents and occupy an extra bed in the same room.
Time Period
The time period for the submission of the application will expire on the 20th of June of each year – so you will need to be quick for this year.
The deadline will, however, remain open until December 1, each year, for those people who had not made an application in due time. There will be no calculations in this case and they will be qualified to fill any vacancies that may occur.
Evaluation
Age of the applicants
In this variable the age of the applicant will be evaluated, in coherence with the principles which report on and justify care for the elderly, obtaining a point for each year which they are over 60 years old. The top limit will be 20 points. The reference for the evaluation will be the age of the applicant on the 31st of December of the year in which the time period for the submission of the applications ends.
When there are two participants in the application, the age of both will be calculated with reference to the year of the parameter entered on the screen, calculating the average of the two ages and rounding up to the nearest integer.
Financial situation of the applicants
The monthly income of the applicant and, where applicable, of their spouse will be evaluated. In the case of the presence of a spouse the two incomes will be added together and divided by 1.33. The maximum score will be 40 points and will be made according to stipulated income categories.
Participation in the Programs in previous years
This variable favours the access of new applicants to the Program. Likewise and for those users who have already participated in the Programs in previous seasons, it will be taken into consideration the period in which they have enjoyed their holidays, differentiating between the low season months (December and January) and high season (October, November, February, March, April, May and June). For this point the last two seasons of the Program will be taken into account.
In any case, for those people who have participated twice in the same season, it will be considered that they have travelled in high season independently of the fact that both trips may have been made in low season.
The maximum which has been estimated for this variable is 50 points. For the evaluation of the applications of married couples the situation of both spouses will be taken into consideration, and it will be necessary that both meet the same requirements in terms of participation in order to obtain a greater score.
Numerous family
In virtue of that established in the Law for the Protection of numerous families, and through this article, access to the Holiday Program for those people who are in this position is favoured.
If, once all the variables taken into account in the scale have been evaluated, there are files with the same score, they will be sorted according to the date of birth of the applicant.
In the event where there are sons or daughters with a disability who accompany their parents, they will not be taken into consideration, assuming in every case the score obtained by their parents.
Help and information line
There is a help and information line available to the applicants, on 901 109 899, open Monday to Friday from 9am until 9pm and Saturdays from 9am until 2pm.
