Dames in Spain visit Cabo de Gata
On Monday May 16 2016 the Dames in Spain explored the wonders of the Cabo de Gata when they enjoyed a wonderful day trip to this beautiful area of Almería.
The Cabo de Gata is a place to see wildlife, beautiful beaches and coves. The weather was perfect and the day out was enjoyed by everyone, a mixed group of Dames and their guests.
Stopping at Las Salinas, the coastal part are the salt mines of the Cabo de Gata where in the nearby natural lakes they could see many nesting birds including the pink flamingo.
The group also visited the Old Fortress of the Guardia Civil, the Church and the Lighthouse which is the most south western point of the Iberian Peninsula, having a magnificent panoramic view over the cliffs.
Finally the Dames and their guests travelled to La Isleta for a splendid lunch. After resting and enjoying the scenery there, they had a leisurely drive back along the coast road, back to Mojacar. This is such a beautiful area to visit and everyone had a happy full day out.
The next event is on June 20 2016. It is the Dames in Spain Summer Lunch will be held at Sottocasa on Mojacar Playa. The cost is just 18 euros and is open to members and their guests.
