Currency Exchange
We made one major mistake when we moved to Spain. Yes, just the one! Really!
We should have known better, we should have researched the options and instead of using a bank to change our savings in Euro we should have used a dedicated currency exchange company.Even with relatively small amounts you’re certain to get significantly more Euros for your Sterling (or the other way around). Better rates can save you hundreds if not thousands. Further than that, if you’re buying a property you WILL save thousands, if not tens of thousands, at the higher end of the market.Over the years we’ve used a number of companies, many of which work well; there’s lots to choose from! Though always be sure to look for the correct credentials when browsing the options. Look out for the phrase “authorised and regulated by the FSA” and look for a checkable registration number. If you don’t see that, look elsewhere – this is is your safeguard and your guarantee. At the time of writing we are mostly using TorFX for our own transfers. Have a play with the tool on this page which will give you a guide as to how much you could save compared to using your bank at recent rates! |
