Close Shave Benefits F.A.C.E.
At Bar Pablos in Arboleas there was a special charity event held on the 17th November called the Great Beardoff.

The two darts teams that use the bar as a base, Pablos 1 and Pablos 2 decided to join together to raise money for a local Charity. As the main event was to be the shaving of beards belonging to darts players Paul Maydew and Ian Valentine, it was decided that the charity to benefit would be F.A.C.E. (Fundraising in Arboleas, Caring for Everyone). Both of the dart teams collected sponsorship money from other dart teams as they played them in the Summer League.
On the Charity night its self there was a fun darts game played between the two Pablo’s teams, a lovely buffet and the Great Beard Off. Unfortunately for the two victims, they did not know who was going to shave them.
All guests to the bar were issued with a numbered ticket, and just before the event four of the tickets were randomly drawn. Two of the persons drawn cut off the main part of the beards with scissors and the other two persons completed the job by using an electric shaver. I am pleased to report that no blood was spilt during this event.
The result of the Charity night was that the darts players presented F.A.C.E. with €302.
The next big event for F.A.C.E. is their very own Christmas Fayre, which is being held in a huge marquee sited on the car park in front of the Arboleas Ayuntamiento. This will open at 6-00pm on Friday 2nd December.
