This is the first book in a series of three (eagerly awaiting third book as I type this) written by the lovely Victoria Twead.
If Joe and Vicky had known what relocating to a tiny mountain village in Andalucia would be like, they might have hesitated…
They have no idea of the culture shock in store. No idea they’ll become reluctant chicken farmers and own the most dangerous cockerel in Spain. No idea they’ll help capture a vulture or be rescued by a mule.
Will they stay, or return to the relative sanity of England?
I couldn’t have been more wrong! Maybe it was because this book was from a woman, but I enjoyed it so much more than the ones I had read previously. From the very first chapter, Victoria had me laughing out loud. You just wanted everything to go well for them… but at the same time, I was relishing another catastrophe, as those stories are all the funnier.
After reading the first book… I bought the second (Two Old Fools – Olé) and once again was transported into a wonderful rural Spanish life. We were reading this as our plans to move from Lanzarote to mainland Spain were gaining momentum, and I picked up countless hints and tips from the informative pages.
If you are thinking of moving to Spain – you MUST buy these books!
Thanks Vicki – you really don’t know how useful your book has been… even for a seasoned expat! Elle x
