Blog of The Month – April 2014

Today sees the award for the Spain Buddy Blog of The month for April 2014, and the winner is Erin Ridley who owns and runs “La Tortuga Viajera” (the travelling turtle). Erin is originally from San Francisco but now lives in Madrid.

Whilst on a 3 day trip to Spain, Erin met a Spanish man in a bar. She barely spoke to him… just having a 15 minute conversation with him. However, upon her return home, they began a friendship via email which blossomed into a fully fledged romance.

Three months later and she returned to Spain – quite rightly nervous about seeing this man again, but obviously also very excited. The trip went extremely well.

In the spring of 2008, Erin packed up her apartment and flower business, waved a nervous goodbye to San Francisco and moved across to Madrid to spend the rest of her life with the man she loves. The rest, as they say… is history.

Erin’s blog is partly a diary as she takes us through her adventures. She also has a real passion for food, and this is evident in her writing. Not only that but she also shares her travels with her readers, and helps people who are thinking of moving to Madrid. If you are an American in Madrid, you really should get in contact with Erin, as she can help with networks and those tips that could make your transition so much easier.
