Birds in bars!

Elle has often told me I spend far too much time looking at ‘birds’ in bars. But I couldn’t take my eyes of this one when I encountered it earlier today in town.

Best guess based on information from a friend, far more knowledgeable in these matters than I, is that it’s a young Golden Eagle – and what a stunner it was too! There’s something quite mesmerising about birds of prey, stunningly beautiful, graceful, regal and aloof yet perfectly designed to kill and so damned efficient at their job.

I can’t say I’m in support of any animals, apart from the obvious domestic exceptions like dogs and cats with whom we share a co-dependence, being kept captive. But there is something rather surreal about sitting down for a coffee with such a beautiful creature so close by. It’s not something you see every day!
