Hi! Billy Boxer here! I hope you had a good Christmas and that your New Year is already shaping up nicely. While I have you – please take a look at these beautiful grandpa doggies.
While it is warm and sunny these days, winter is just around the corner and the temperatures will drop a lot very soon. Can we get these poor grandpas out of the kennels for the winter please?
Kennels are not the right place for old dogs but during the winter it is extra hard on them and the team members at APSA are very worried. Instead of being outside in the cold, they should be snuggled up in front of the fireplace, being spoiled, enjoying the last period of their lives
APSA is looking for long-term foster homes or adoption for these three lovely old gentleman. All three are wonderful, loving and well behaved and would make great companions.
Barney is about nine years old, medium-big. He has been at the kennels forever and there was no interest in him at all. He is a very smart boy with a great personality who, despite his age, enjoys a good run, loves long walkies and having a buddy to play with. But he also has a very soft side, loves a fuss and makes a fab cuddle buddy. Lovely Barney would make such a lovely family friend.
Ben is already 12 years old and has spent almost all his life at the kennels. It must be the black dog curse, he just disappears among the others and adopters have never taken a second look at him. He is now really old for a biggish dog and living in kennels is getting harder and harder for him. All he wants is a cozy bed, a lot of love and a nice walk to enjoy himself. He is a loving, calm and obedient boy and walks beautifully on the lead. Oh, can we please get this wonderful oldie into a loving home to enjoy his last time?
Yoda, nine years old, was found wandering this spring, unhappy and all alone. He settled in so nicely at the kennels, gets on with everyone and is just such a joy. Loving, well behaved, great temper, walks very well on the lead. Yoda was diagnosed with Leishmaniasis but is responding well to treatment. He just had an organ test a couple of days ago and his kidneys and liver are fine, he just needs to continue with his daily dosis of Alopurinol and have another test in some months. We would be happy to pay for his treatment, we just want him out of the kennels.
Three awesome elderly dogs who all deserve a loving home so much. PLEASE SHARE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD, help us the get the grandpa’s out for winter!!!!
To give one of these old chaps a home, or to help APSA in other ways… please contact them direct rather than asking me. Mum & Dad get cross when I spend all day on the phone, or when I play on the internet too much.
Lots of love from another rescue fluff – Billy Boxer
