Around-Algorfa launches on the Costa Blanca
If you’re not familiar with the small, typically Spanish town of Algorfa on the Costa Blanca, that’s all about to change. Local resident, freelance writer and clairvoyant Sandra Piddock fell in love with the small inland town when she first came to the area on a property search back in 2007. However, the first thing she noticed was there wasn’t much interesting information about Algorfa and the surrounding area
online, and she wondered why.
About Algorfa, For Algorfa, by Algorfa
Algorfa is one of those hidden gems off the tourist trail. Nestling in the beautiful Vega Baja valley, surrounded by orange and lemon groves and watched over by the Sierra de Callosa mountains, there are some beautiful walks around the town and in the surrounding campo. Local landmarks such as the Ermita Chapel, built from locally quarried stone at the beginning of the 20th century, provide great photo opportunities, with plenty of pit stops available in the friendly bars and restaurants Around Algorfa.
When she launched her first website, Sandra in Spain in 2014, Sandra vowed that soon Algorfa would have its own website. With that in mind, she asked her webmaster, Spain Buddy co-owner Elle Draper, to acquire the domain name Around Algorfa in readiness. It’s taken a bit longer than planned, due to life and Covid getting in the way, but now the website is live. Sandra believes it’s the first English language website focused exclusively on Algorfa, although there are a number of excellent local groups and pages on Facebook.
About Around-Algorfa
Around-Algorfa is first and foremost a showcase for the town, its people and the local businesses. The website covers everything from medical services and community organisations to shopping, eating out, things to do locally and buying property in and Around Algorfa. Future features will introduce the faces behind local businesses, information on Algorfa culture and traditions and inside information on Algorfa and its satellite urbanisations.
There will be plenty of free promotion for local charities and businesses via links and mentions in round up articles. Sandra also offers competitively priced introductory advertising packages, which include a banner on the website and an exclusively tailored advertorial to tell the world – or at least the world Around Algorfa! – what’s so special about your business.
Sandra says: “Around Algorfa will be a trusted information point for the local area, but I also want
to introduce people to the amazing services that are available in our town, and the faces behind the logos. In business and in life, nothing is more important than trust, and the best way to build trust is to make yourself known to the people you live with and work with. Around Algorfa aims to do just that.”
If you’re local to Algorfa, Sandra is looking for ideas for informative and interesting content for the website. She writes all the website features, and prides herself on finding unique and/or amusing angles for every piece she writes. However Around Algorfa develops in the future, it’s never going to be boring – Sandra will see to that.
We would like to wish Sandra all the very best of luck with her new venture. What’s certain, is that Sandra’s passion for her town will work wonders in promoting the town and its businesses to any who live there or visit. Her unique style and approach is a positive step for the town in stamping its footprint a little more in the Wolrd Wide Web. Whether you know the town well, or are a first-time visitor – this brand new website should be exactly what you are looking for.
