Acciona Trasmediterranea
Having recently brought three dogs from the Canaries to the Peninsula we have some advice for anyone else thinking of using the Acciona Trasmediterranea ferry between the Canaries and Cadiz. You might want to think again!
We had a terrible experience of this company and their inhumane, in our eyes, treatment of animals. The facilities were inadequate, filthy, dangerous and we were going to be denied the access to our dogs that we told we would have by the call centre on booking.
In short we were lied to at the point of sale, and subsequently almost bullied on-board into mistreatment of our own animals. The whole experience was a fiasco.
I’ve written the whole thing up on my personal blog in detail. If you’re seriously considering using this route with your dogs or cats and want to read the whole article – click here.

I have just received an email from my contact at Acciona detailing a number of forthcoming changes. I do not feel yet that I should outline them as until they are rolled out as the company might consider such information commercially sensitive.
I’m looking forward to a time very soon when I can create a new post showing just how professionally Acciaona have dealt with me. From my initial anger at Acciona Trasmediterránia they have now turned me into big fan!
I am very impressed! More to come on this soon.
