Revised road system is now live in Javea
The revised road system is now live in Javea, following the recent roadworks in the Freginal area. With this in mind, drivers are warned to be on their guard because driving priorities have changed quite dramatically in some areas.
The local police have allowed 15 days for drivers to get used to the new directions, including a number of one way streets, but will be on your case from June onward in case of any violations ready to dish out a penalty.
Most of Freginal is to be one-way now, according to the local police, so will take a little getting used to if you are used to taking a certain route home. The local police and the town hall recommend that drivers take extra care and are especially observant of the new vertical signage which should help as everybody gets their bearings.
Work was carried out earlier this month (May 2015) with bus routes and any vehicles not owned by residents of the area were blocked to access. The vertical signage is now erected and the tarmacking complete.
Jávea is a municipality that houses more than 80 nationalities and is a popular destination for visitors from around the world. The council currently consists of the mayor and 20 councillors.
