Kelton Bates-Morgan

When did you move to Spain, and where from?
2005 – Lincolnshire, UK

Who came with you?
My wife and out 18m daughter

Where in Spain do you live now?
Arrecife, Lanzarote

What things (apart from loved ones) do you miss from your country of birth?
We used to spend a lot of weekends going to VW shows, that’s what we miss most.

Do you work? As what?
I run a company specialising in internet and IPTV. I am also the UD Lanzarote mascot, La pina. I also work on local radio and worked for 7 years as a karaoke DJ

How are you with speaking Spanish?
I work with Movistar engineers and am happy to converse with them both in a professional and more social manner

If you could change one thing about Spain… what would that be?
The strange belief that Spanish parents have that children can do as they want including running round restaurants.

What are the best things about living in Spain?
It is a wonderful place to bring up children. Our 13yo and 9yo go to the parks, shops and library by themselves. They have far more freedom than they would have in the UK.

There is also always something going on, we have been on sailing days, watched motor rallys, free concerts, all you have to do is find them. We love carnival and always dress up and join in, not just watching.

What are your favourite Spanish dishes?
Meatballs, deep fried baby squid, chorizo and lentils. Our favourite fast food snack is 100 Montaditos

What is the predominant nationality of your friends in Spain?
English and Irish. However we always joining in with any events we see advertised, from concerts on the beach to the tapas festivals,

If you won the Euromilliones – would you still live where you currently are? Why? Why not?
I would love to build somewhere for us in Arrecife. We are on the outskirts so it doesn’t feel like being in the city. itself. I do love the convenience of being so close to everything though.

If a movie was made about your life – who would play you? Why?
Robin Williams would have been perfect – an entertainer who loved to make people laugh whilst hiding a depressed personality.

If you had to describe yourself as a cocktail… what would you be, and why?
A B52 – I have lots of different layers – and its made from Kahlua (Coffee – I NEED coffee to live) Baileys, my favourite liquer and Gran Marnier (As it’s orange, it counts as one of your five a day, right?)

Right – now is the chance to tell us all about your business/website/blog if you have one (or more of course).
www.slasherstreams.com – It’s the website for our IPTV Service. We have over 1000 subscribers between out two platforms. I personally prefer Flawless as it has lived up to its name.
