Chill-out Loft in the heart of Andalusia

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

The apartment is on the top two floors of an old house, situated in the heart of the town.

There is a large bedroom on the first floor with a balcony looking out into the street. There is a small terrace at the back that looks out to the main church and the surrounding hills. There is a beautiful wood beamed bathroom with walk in shower. On the top floor there is a large space with kitchen and dining area, workspace and sofa chill-out zone with pellet burner.

In the same street is a traditional olive-wood bakery, several bars, a pharmacy and a mini supermarket. 5 minutes walk will take you to other great bars, restaurants, shops in the centre. Above the town are extensive pine forests to walk in or below is the river Genil from Granada.

Guest Access
Complete self-contained apartment with one large bedroom with real bed and a small double futon sofa bed upstairs.

Interaction with Guests
This apartment is our home. It’s only available for rent if we move out, which given the nature of our work, we do consistently throughout the year.

The keyholder lives in the ground floor apartment. She speaks English, Spanish and German and will be available to help with any questions throughout your stay.

The Neighbourhood
The barrio is a living and working hub of the old town. Bakeries, hairdresser, supermarkets, fruit and vegetables, newsagents, bars and a church are found in the same street. At just 5 minutes you are in the very centre of the old town of Loja, with its squares and old cobbled streets, it’s ancient fortress and – being a non-touristic area – its very friendly inhabitants!

You’ll need your car to stock up at the three large supermarkets on the edge of town but other than that, you can walk everywhere and there are numerous small, family-run supermarkets within walking distance of the house.

Getting Around
Although parking in the street is not available, you can load and unload outside the house. There is ample parking in the nearby streets, especially in the main road just a few minutes walk above the town.

Buses run frequently from both Malaga and Granada cities and a train line runs from Granada (but at present is undergoing works.)

Other Things to Note
Sheets, towels and cooking equipment are all provided.

The apartment is accessed by a flight of stairs and the upper floor by further stairs so it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

As the top floor is a loft in a very old house, we have tried to keep the original charm and style of the house throughout the renovation. This means that the old beams are still in their original positions – so please take care not to accidentally bang your head, as they are quite low in places.
